Saturday evening after we went to see Jill and her new baby we needed food. In a town with an El Rancherito, there is really not any other dining choice. We always head there. Michelle suggested we try another El Rancherito type place in Charleston. Not owned by the EL Rancho people, but it was supposed to be good. Michelle's friend and former co-worker MARGARITA had highly recommended it and with an authentic Mexican name like that, you can't go wrong!
Let me introduce....
LOS POTRILLOS
I don't love it. I don't hate it.
Michelle and Gabe always get it and Jack is VERY fond of it.
Well, at LP they have a another form of cheese dip.
They add spinach to it!
HOLA spinach cheese dip.
I think I love you.
I got a chicken burrito. I am not sure if it was as big as my head, I have a
larger head than the normal sized person.
It sure was good.
After all that spinach cheese dip I barely put a dent in it.
Made for great leftovers the next day!
It will always be my first love.

Being native to the Charleston area, we know about Los Russ and Lindas (it was Russ and Linda Chicken before turning mexican). But for the best in the area one must check out Don Sol in Mattoon, two words SUNDAY BUFFET. Yea its what your thinking! Nice.
Is that Jack's hand or Dexter's next to the burrito? I'm just trying to judge the size of that thing - it looks delicious!
Kate,
That is Dexter's hand.
For a 10 month old he has very large hands.
It was a great burrito.
Jack got the kids chicken quesadialla. It came with rice and beans and was SO GOOD. A great portion for an adult size lunch and only cost $2.00!
My jumbo burrito meal was only $7.50!
We LOVE los potrillos so much that we now make special trips to c-town for it!
