I find when there is nothing else fit to watch, you can always count on HGTV and the Food Network.
When we moved into our new house this Fall I heard HGTV mentioned twice on moving day. Once by my Dad and once by his brother, my Uncle Garry. I am pretty sure you can guess what's on the TV most of the time at their houses.
Also love Property Virgins.
I love that show. I want to plan a vaca around the places he goes.
I am starting to watch Iron Chef. I love the moment when the secret ingredient is revealed.
I am just waiting for the day it is Cream of Mushroom soup.

I am adicted to both channels. I am only able to watch them when my husband is gone though because he is a sports fanatic and that is all we watch. And he wonders why i have not cleaned the house while on break from school?!
House Hunters (origional) is all-time favorite. I do love design to sell also. I don't think I have ever watched the food network for even one minute of my life, sorry fans. I love food but don't find joy in watching people cook.
You are so right, there is always something to watch on HGTV. I love House Hunters & also Designed to Sell. Only get to watch them when Ron isn't home, but he will watch the Food Network. When he is home we watch sports and if nothing good is on then Discovery, History Channel, Animal Planet, etc. We love watching Dirty Jobs and used to watch Deadliest Catch and something called "Ax Men", I think. Don't know what happened to either one, haven't seen them on in a while.
i realized last night that property virgins is becoming my favorite show.
i also love any show on food network that involves making cakes!
Fave HGTV = How Much is my House Worth? I am for some reason obsessed with that show.
Fave Food Network - Diners, Drive ins and Dives and Ace of Cakes
We like the food network at our house. we are pretty big fans of Bobby Flay..even Doug!
By the way...the secret ingredient the other nigt was BACON! LOL
Where do I start?? I LOVE both of these channels. Designer's Challenge is pretty good. House hunters is good too, although I am not sure why they have to have Susanne Wong. Food Network rocks! Paula Deen anything for me. I DVR a lot on this channel. Ace of Cakes, Challenge, Iron Chef...I have caught Guy a couple times on Ultimate Recipe Showdown. Makes me want to go to TGIFriday's though.
Ace of Cakes is by far my fave on The Food Network...although if I am home in the afternoon and Rachel Ray's 30 Minute-Meals is on, I will be glued. But if Bruce is home, The Food Network isn't on. He can't stand it. I wonder if it's b/c he has been dieting for over a year now??? Hmmmmm....
HGTV: I used to watch it a lot more when I stayed home during the day. But now, I am lucky to be able to tune in to House Hunters at 9:00 pm. Love That Show!!!
I'm with Holly. I love, love, love House Hunters. I have it set to tape so I never miss an episode. I don't watch food network just because I already have enough problems with food. That's all I need is some more delicious recipes to make the thighs bigger!
House Hunters, Design on a Dime, Devine Design, Color Splash and Room by Room (though I haven't seen it listed lately when I'm home) are all favorites on HGTV. My living/dining room is actually done like a room from Room by Room.
Sandra Lee's Semi-Homemade is my favorite on food network, Paula's a close second. Robert loves Good Eats-- but I think Alton Brown is annoying!
I'm a loser, I don't watch either channel, I must be missing out.
We have to get a glimpse at work to see what Sandra Lee is wearing. She always coordinates with the dishes & curtains-who has time for that? We eat off of John Deere plates that the Easter Bunny brought the kids 5 years ago!!! Note to self-buy dishes at Walmart....
Kelly - I caught Sandra Lee wearing this German beerfest get-up the other day (it was Octoberfest). She once again destroyed another store bought angel food cake - what does she have against the angel food??!!
I can always find something to watch on the Food Network. Call me a weird but I love to cook! Bobby Flay, Good Eats,Paula Dean and Barefoot Contessa are some of my favorites! Homemade with Sandra Lee is also great for her cocktail recipes.
