The Queen of all things

My sister Michelle's very good friend Eliza was lucky enough to attend a taping of the Oprah show on Tuesday. She told me that she was going this past Sunday at one of our purse parties that she attended. I begged for details and she was kind enough to e-mail me a detailed account of the trip to Harpo Studios.
In Eliza's words, here is how it all went down:

OK, for those who didn’t know beforehand, Mom, Jen, Hannah, and I went to Oprah yesterday. I got tickets from the last minute email reservations page on oprah.com for Rascal Flatts. We actually ended up seeing 2 tapings!!!!!! We had no idea we would see 2 shows. The first show taped was the holiday show, yesterday was the last tapings until after the first of the year. The first show was country musicians that included, Rascal Flatts, Vince Gill and Amy Grant, Kenny Rogers, and Jamie Foxx sang with Rascal Flatts. They sang songs and did interviews. My mom and Jen were disappointed b/c they thought the whole show was going to be Rascal Flatts and then they only sang one song. Oh well, still an awesome day!! Then the next taping was a Behind the Scenes of Oprah’s Favorite Things 2007 that actually aired on TV yesterday. She showed footage of the Favs show and showed the interviews that she did with the people in Macon, GA where the Favs show was taped last Saturday. She also showed the crew setting things up and how the show actually was pulled off. She showed footage of Josh Groban singing in GA and then Paula Deen (from the food network shows) came out on stage and made a cheese ball recipe on stage with a Kitchen Aid mixer that everyone in the audience got to take home!!!!!!! They retail for $349.99. Then we all got to try the cheese ball. Then after the next commercial break they passed around another of Oprah’s favorite things, cupcakes from Sam Godrey and the Williams-Sonoma catalog. The people in GA got them on the Favs show, too. It melted in your mouth, oh it was so good! They are called perfect ending cupcakes and they can be ordered online as well. So by the time we left, we saw 2 shows, ate cheese ball and cupcakes, got a Kitchen Aid mixer, Paula Deen cookbook, Amy Grant CD, Josh Groban CD, Rascal Flatts CD, and Vince Gill’s 5 CD box set. The day was awesome and we really needed it!! Sarah turned me on the website (thanks Sarah!!!!), so everyone who is interested, should go to the website and try to get last minute reservations. I only tried twice before I got called!!

Eliza

Now, go get a towel and wipe the drool off your face. This inspiring story is what I think truly counts as a Christmas Miracle!!!

Thanks for the report Eliza! Congrats on the new mixer and your brush with the greatness that is the Fabulous O!
