The dreaded haircut

Jack was about 6 weeks overdue for a haircut and I had put it off as long as I could. Normally taking Jack for a haircut is Cliff's job. Jack was so bad at the haircuts that I had to stop going. Words cannot describe how upset he would get. Since I did not want to torture the person I may see on a regular basis around town, Cliff took Jack to a barbershop in Olney. The last time I went with them we got lucky that Cliff's nephew was there and he helped us hold him still. Cliff said the past couple of times Jack was starting to do much better.

Last week after Cliff got his hair cut by Amanda Ginder like he usually does, Jack said he wanted Amanda to cut his hair. Here are some pics of Jack getting his hair cut by Amanda (who Jack says is sexy).

THE FINISHED PRODUCT

Jack is pretty proud of his haircut. I was so proud of his behavior while getting his hair cut!
Thanks so much Amanda! Looks like we can keep our haircutting dollars in Newton now!

Hey American Idol Pool people--tonight is the night. Watch the show (or don't watch and just guess) and then e-mail me your bottom three to jak122004@msn.com

Don't forget to number them from 3 to 1 with the number one slot given to the person you think will be going home.

You have until 7:00 tomorrow night to get me your bottom three.

Scooter

A little scooter action for Jack.
He insists on wearing the helmet backwards.

What did you have to eat--the Sunday lunch edition?

Ahh the good old Sunday lunch.
Did you have a nice big meal with your family yesterday?

This one is for Tracie who finally cooked. I can't wait to hear what she made!

Lifetime

So, my life has become so boring that Saturday night I actually made plans with myself to watch a movie on Lifetime-THE MEMORY KEEPERS DAUGHTER. It was based on a book that I really want to read, and as far as Lifetime movies go, Oscar-worthy.

And now a look back at some of the most awesomely bad Lifetime movie titles:

*She Woke Up Pregnant

*My Stepson, My Lover

*Fatal Vows

*Missing! (it's all in the exclamation point)

*The Babysitter Seduction

*A Woman Scorned

*Men Don't Tell

*Mother Trucker

*Baby Monitor SOUND OF FEAR

and what I think is the all time very best-----

*Mother, May I Sleep With Danger?

I came across this little jewel of a website that allows you to generate the name of your own Lifetime movie-talk about fun!!!

http://www.bredcrumbs.com/lifetime-movie-title-generator/

Here are a few of mine:

I Loved My Need Too Much: Sarah's Story
Kidnapped For Life: The Story of Sarah
God, Don't Leave Me Slain
A Wheelchair Called Sarah (that one's my fav!!)

Give it a try and of course, if you get some good ones, please share with the entire class!

Dexter is 6 months old!

My sister Michelle made this video of her son Dexter to celebrate him turning 6 months old. Make sure you turn up the sound so you can hear the song that goes along with it.

In case you never heard the story, last September when Michelle, Gabe, Jack, and I were at Walt Disney World, every night at the Wishes Firework show Michelle would wish for a baby. We got home on a Thursday and Dexter was born that Saturday. Disney Magic??? You decide. Whatever kind of magic brought him to us, we sure are grateful!

What did you have for dinner last night?

--this one is for Tracie and because it is so much fun

What did you have for dinner last night?

Who cooked it?

If you ate or ordered out, what did you have?

Bye Bye Michael Johns. Hello to the madness that has allowed Kristy Lee Cook to make it to the final 7.
I thought Michael was good. Not so sure about the ascots he had started wearing, but everybody needs their own thing. If nothing else, he should have a career in some INXS cover band. (maybe it is just me, but that guy looks, sounds, and moves like Michael Hutchence)
Amanda Martin got the bottom three right and her husband Ryan correctly predicted that Michael would be going home. They were the only ones that had points awarded. Even with their points, Tracie and BB still have the lead with only 30 points between them and the bottom player so, everyone still has a chance.

Just like......

Jack can ride a bike. Pretty well for a three year old (with training wheels of course). About every day when it is nice out we go for a ride around the block. He rides, I walk. Jack is getting so good at the bike riding thing that I am having a hard time keeping up with him--I don't run, my boobs are way to big for that.

I got Cliff a bicycle for Christmas and he and Jack have started riding together around the neighborhood. Last night Cliff lowered the seat and for the first time in years and years, I rode a bike. And you know what, it's true what they say, it is just like riding a bike. And unlike most forms of exercise, I actually enjoyed it. I don't foresee myself becoming the next Lance Armstrong or anything (and why would I want to--I REALLY DO NOT LIKE HIM!!!) or even a Tim K. Farley riding around town with my hair flowing in the breeze, but Jack and I may just start riding together.

It did take me a little while to figure out why my butt was so sore when I got up this morning. Cliff's bike seat is not made for a bigger gal such as myself.
