Motherhood....

You're gonna miss this....
You're gonna want this back...
You're gonna wish these days
Hadn't gone by so fast
~~~~~~
Being a Mother is not easy. The army slogan "the toughest job you'll ever love" comes to my mind. This past week Jack came home and told us something that had happened to him at school. I was shocked and upset. I was not ready to handle these issues. I don't want to have to call teachers and have to explain to Jack that even though so and so is his friend, we cannot repeat the things he says or do the things that he does.
And so it begins.
I'm not ready for this.
I want my biggest parenting problems to be getting my kids to sleep alone, taking Harry's bottle away, helping Jack make the letter C.
I don't want this yet, but I can't stop it.
~~~~~
Here's Jack at one and a half. His second Easter, sporting a sailor suit (you know I love a sailor suit).

Jack would not be caught dead wearing a sailor suit now, but I had the pleasure of putting Prince Harry in that very same outfit a couple of weeks ago.

~~~~~
These are the good times....
So take a good look around...
You may not know it now....
But you're gonna miss this....
~~~~~
Jack's almost done with preschool.
This Fall he will be in kindergarten. Gone all day long.
When you have kids, people tell you to enjoy them, it goes so fast.
My dear neighbor is 85 years old. She loves my boys and likes to tell me about her kids when they were little. She still remembers potty training, bike riding, and sleepless nights. I'm sure you never forget.
~~~~~~
May you grow up to be righteous
May you grow up to be true
May you always know the truth
And see the lights surrounding you
May you always be courageous
Stand upright and be strong
May you stay forever young
Would this neighbor be Virginia 'Starky' Spencer? If so she is amazing, and Olivia loves her. Starky is basically the person Olivia looks for Before/During/After Church, to play patty cake, wave at an an inappropriate time and know she will always get a big smail and wave back (even if it is right in the middle of prayer). She is a pretty awesome ole gal! I remember going to their house when I was little to play with her Great grandkids! If she is indeed the neighbor that you are talking about, I am glad that you and your boys get to know such a fantastic lady.
