To the point. With a bullet

  • Crocs are not good shoes to wear in the IGA parking lot when it is/has been raining.
  • Jack has taken to throwing what I like to call "dramatic fits" (this sounds better to me than tantrums), his new thing is to yell "CURSE YOU" in the middle of his hysterics.
  • I have been getting a little more sleep. Harrison is sleeping fairly well. Jack on the other hand has been up a lot with leg aches. I just assume they are growing pains and must REALLY hurt.
  • I am SO looking forward to the Real Housewives of NYC tonight. It has become my new favorite show. Think Bravo would do a Real Housewives of Jasper County? I just know that I am destined to star in some sort of a reality tv program.
  • Football t-shirts have been ordered (for the Athletic Boosters)! We will have them for sale at the Fish Fry in June. I am really excited about them. I think they are my fav out of all that we have ever done.
  • I forgot what a pain feeding a baby was. Harrison has been eating just in the evenings, but I really think he is about ready to eat in the morning and or at lunch. I am going to try to put that off as long as I can. It is just SO messy.
  • Yo Gabba Gabba is a pretty decent show.
  • I was saddened to hear that Raymell Taylor died. I hope she is in heaven with Roscoe eating some KY Fried.
  • I have a new poll topic, suggested to me by a reader. I am working on it and hope to get it up soon.
  • The purse business is going VERY well. http://www.sarahsellz.blogspot.com/ --it's my blog and I will give it a plug if I want to! Sometimes it seems like the purses are sold as soon as the man in brown drops them off. I've started getting busier with people booking parties. I am trying to space them out and only do a few every month.
  • Jack and I are going to Chicago this weekend to stay with my Aunt Patty and do some "Chicago stuff". I'm excited to get away even for a few days. Jack is so excited to go to Chicago. I really did not feel comfortable driving with Jack and Harrison so, Baby Harry is going to stay with his Aunt Shell and Uncle Jason. Harry is excited about his mini vaca. I feel bad about leaving him, but I know he will be fine.
  • I really wish I would just go ahead and win the lottery so I could get that fountain soda machine and Freeze style ice machine installed in my house.
  • Supper is already started. Beef and noodles. Yum-o
  • Madonna is getting another kid, wonder why she just didn't try to buy one from the octo-mom?

What a twitt!

Do you twitter?

It's the latest thing.

All the cool kids are doing it.

I am not so sure I need to know what you are doing at all times in 140 characters or less.

I figure the feeling goes both ways. Although I could probably find a way to make it sound amusing, my life for the most part is not that interesting.

On top of that, between the blog, purse business, internet porn, facespace, and making sure that the e-mail hackers have interesting stuff to read, I just don't have the time to take on anything else.

............i'll probably be tweeting away by next week.

Here's Meredith on the Today show talking to Steven Colbert about twitter.

The short trip to Crazytown

The good news is for the second night in a row the annoying noise (never did figure out exactly what it was) has been absent.
The bad news is I am at the end of my rope.
I am getting no sleep. I quit counting the number of time Harrison got up last night.
He was stuffed up and not able to sleep.
Around 3 am when I had slept about a total of an hour I gave in and just put him in his swing to sleep.
He slept, but Jack woke me up at 5:30.
Cliff has been working 12 hour days for about a month. Since then I have been away from my kids for about a total of 5 hours. I am including in that time the few minutes I have ran to pick up a pizza at Joe's before Cliff went to work.
At some point somethings gonna have to give.
Because it makes me feel better, here's a little something that always brightens my day.

Now hear this

This is the annoying sound I have been hearing outside my bedroom window for the past five nights.

Anyone have any idea at all what this is and how I can get rid of it?

Jon and Kate, Screech Owls, and bed wetting

This is gonna be a rambler.....

I think I told you Cliff was working 7 days a week, 12 hours a day, 7 pm-7am. No days off for at least two months. It really is starting to wear on all of us.

Last night was one of those nights. Our friends Jamee, Emily, and Hayden came over to play. Jack, who loves Emily and asks for her to come over constantly, was less than a gracious host. I was embarrassed by his behavior. He was tired (still not an excuse) because he had been up coughing the night before.

Jack went to bed about 7:45. Harrison was still up. He and I had big plans to watch the Season Finale of Jon and Kate Plus 8 together. After going in to check to see what Jack wanted 4 or 5 times---oh yeah, he is sleeping in bed with me. judge away, I deserve it, but I don't have the energy at this point to make him sleep in his own bed---he finally went to sleep.

Harrison went to sleep about 8:30ish and Jack woke up crying/coughing for the first time. Got him back to sleep. Realized I had forgotten to eat supper. Started to eat, Jack wakes up again. Calm him down. Finish supper and Jon and Kate. Now I am crying because I feel so bad for Jon, it was obvious he was hurting, perhaps wanted to stop filming the show yet once again Kate only cares about her tanned self. She was happy with her life now so why should it matter if Jon was not.

Jack wakes up again. Calm him down.

Had to put pics of new purses on the purse website---they are super cute, check them out www.sarahsellz.blogspot.com

Did I mention that a few nights ago I started hearing something sort of beeping/screeching/bird/car alarm/no clue what it is sound at night? Last night was no exception. I deduced that it was not a car alarm. I think that a noise that hideous and annoying can only be caused by an animal that looks like THIS...........

Jack wakes up coughing and crying.

Jack wakes up again. He hears the screeching/beeping noise and announces that that bird is really annoying.

FINALLY get the purse stuff done.

Jack wakes up again. Calm him down and go to bed. Finally got to sleep around 12:30.

3:30 Harrison wakes up. Has peed through his sleeper, change him, change his bed. Give Harry a bottle.

4:45 back to bed for me. The bed is wet, I though Jack was REALLY sweating. He was not. He had peed the bed. Change him, change the bed. Realize that Jack now has fever and make the decision that he will not be going to school. Try to get back to sleep, it is hard with screeching/beeping noise.

7:30 Cliff gets home. He thinks the animal is a Screech Owl. I say it's not. I listened to a screech owl from a bird sound website.

It is not as annoying as my animal and way cuter.

Jack and Harrison

Here's Jack yesterday afternoon in an outfit pretty much of his own making. The orange shirt that he wore to church and wanted to leave on. The khaki socks that he wore with his church shoes. The yellow crocs, they are getting a little tight. We may need to get a new pair.
A Newton Eagles shirt.
Pretty much everyday someone in our house has on some sort of Newton Eagles apparel.
Harrison's friend Hannah just got back from Spring Break in Florida and
brought him this super cool bib.

We started on the orange veggies a few nights ago.
I had to take off the new bib for fear of turning it orange with Harry's carrots!
I think he likes them.

Honestly, I am not sure if he is even getting any in his mouth!

As seen on TV

With a new baby, lots of nights I am up in the wee hours giving Baby Harry a bottle etc. I usually turn on the TV. I am somewhat embarrassed to admit that lots of times I watch FOX "News". That Bill O'Reilly....he so crazy.

I have also been known to watch an infomercial or two late at night. I get sucked in. Whatever the product is, I need it. I need it badly. It always looks magical and amazing. Billy Mays is somewhat of a legend in my mind. I have developed a small crush on that SHAM-WOW guy. As soon as I get that steam cleaner my house will be spotless and sanitary!

I found this website that gives you more info on the "as seen on tv" products.

http://www.infomercialratings.com/

On of my favs, the CRICUT, gets very high marks. I love the infomercial for this product. Think of all I could do with it. Scrapbooking, glass etching, calendar making, greeting cards, this machine is amazing.

I don't need it. Would never use it.

If you have one can I come over and play with it?

SURVEY SAYS.......

The "should marijuana be legalized" poll is closed. It was close. 52% voted no and 47% voted yes (that does not add up to 100, but the computer usually knows what it is doing, or perhaps my computer has been smoking some illegal mary jane).

Anyhoo, I voted yes. Personally I think it should be legalized. Everything I read shows me that marijuana is less addictive than nicotine and safer to use than alcohol (you certainly don't hear of people overdosing on marijuana at a frat party).

Why not make it legal and let the cash strapped federal and state governments take their cut from the sales?

That's my take, I still would love to hear yours.

~~~
I love a survey.
I love a hot topic survey even more!
This was fun so I am going to do it again, I just have to decide on the topic. I have had lots of suggestions (not really sure how you do a survey on e-mail hacking, what kind of a douchebag thinks that kind of heinous crime is ok?, but I appreciate the suggestion), so as soon as I settle on something topical the survey will be posted.
Spring is here......finally!
Today is the official first day of Spring! Woo-hoo! Ring a bell. For some reason, this winter seems like it has been long and hard (not Little House on the Prairie long and hard, we all know they had it the worst of all).
Jack is ready for the warm weather and to go swimming.
After asking me numerous times, I finally let him take a bath with his swimming trunks on.
This was a big deal to him for some reason, not sure why, but it got us through the day.
Since Jack lost his goggles in the move (I threw them away, don't tell him)
he thought these novelty big sunglasses
would work just as well.
HAPPY SPRING EVERYBODY!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(a special thanks to Jack's swim trunks.
You allowed me to post bathtub pics of my son without giving douchebag,
hypocritical religous, criminal, freakshows, the chance to call them child porn.)

Harrison is 16 weeks old!

Harrison is 16 weeks old today. Time sure has flown by. He is growing and changing everyday.
Harrison in his new exersaucer.

Last week I started giving Harrison cereal in the evenings.
He had not slept through the night since he was born and even though it is no fun getting up at night, I knew we would be ok. Jack has always been an awful sleeper and even though Harrison might get up 2 or three times a night, it still seemed like he was sleeping much better than Jack did when he was a baby. I just thought I would try out the cereal (even though it is obvious the boy is not starving!) to see what happened and he really seemed to like it. He has been sleeping SO much better and even slept through the night a few nights since he has started eating cereal. Next up....orange veggies!

It sure makes a mess!
We head for the bathtub as soon as supper time is over!

What a sweetie!

Randomness

Lots going on, nothing going on.

Using the bullet point feature that my pal Tracie loves.

  • Harrison is 16 weeks old today. I have lots of pictures of him that I will post later in the day.
  • Cliff is working 12 hours a day, 7 days a week. Nights. It sucks. He is going to be doing it for another month and a half. He is not getting enough sleep, I am not getting enough sleep.
  • How blind do you think the blind guy on American Idol really is? I noticed he did not seem to have that much of a problem following along with the group dance last week. I'm just sayin'..........
  • I am fairly certain that Glenn Beck of Fox "News" is certifiably crazy. Exhibit A: the sneakers with the suit. Exhibit B: all the fake tears.
  • I am thinking about purchasing the at-home defibrillator kit I keep seeing on TV. You just never know when you will need one.
  • I did not know the Snuggy came in animal prints!
  • Harrison was up 3 times last night. Jack was up twice. I feel like that in some way will justify the Puerto Vallarta that I plan to eat for lunch.
  • What's up with that Megan chick on American Idol? Is she just quirky?
  • I sure wish I lived in Ward 1 so I could vote for Rick Lindemann.
  • 2 of the Octo-babies came home yesterday.
  • Do you think Jon really is cheating on Kate?
  • Oprah is wearing her hair straight. I don't love it.
  • Jack is star student this week. Today he gets to bring home the class pet (stuffed monkey), I hope he likes Mexican food.
  • I love Keith Olberman.
  • I kind of wish I had not quit watching ER
  • The man in brown is bringing purses today.
  • I have been eating wayyyyyy to much cookie dough.
  • The new pool liner is ordered. Nice days like these make me excited that we will have a pool this summer.
  • President Obama is on Leno tomorrow night. I thought he seemed more like a Letterman kind of Presdent.

Stimulate the economy like this?

Like the rest of the nation, the state of California is in a financial crisis. Instead of a boring stimulus plan, some California lawmakers have come up with a novel way to stimulate their economy. Legalizing marijuana. Like tobacco and alcohol the production would be regulated and the sales would be taxed.

You can read more about it here:

What do you think??
Vote on my poll on the right hand side of the screen.
Leave me a comment with your thoughts pro or con.
I am very interested to see the results of this one.

CHUCK

Yesterday Barbie, today Chuck Norris.
Chuck is 69 today.
I love Chuck Norris jokes. I am not sure why, but I find them to be highly entertaining. It's hard to pick just one as my fav, but hear is one of my favs:
Wilt Chamberlain claims to have slept with 20,000 women. For Chuck Norris that's a slow Tuesday.
What's your favorite Chuck Norris joke?

Too much???

A couple of weeks ago the man in brown
brought Jack some new
Disney Crocs.
He really needed them, they are super cute, and they were a great deal!

Cliff saw the new shoes at the bottom of the stairs waiting for me to take them up to Jack's room.
He mentioned that maybe Jack had enough shoes.

This is Jack's closet.

What do you think???

Knock Knock

I have been to a few Uppercase Living parties in the past few months. I have the stuff that I ordered but was a little hesitant to put any of it up. My cousin Amanda is a PRO at it and offered to come over and help me. She put this on my front door.

From the front
From the back

I think it looks BEAUTIFUL!!!!! I can't stop looking at it. My neighbor across the street called and told me how nice she thought it looked!
Thanks Amanda!

He took it like a man

Harrison went for his shots last night.

His appointment was at 5:20. At 6:00 the girl working thought it would be ok to let someone who had JUST walked in go ahead of me and everyone else waiting because they told her they had some place to be. AS IF!!!!!!! I spoke up and informed her that I had been waiting nearly an hour, had a fussy baby that needed a bottle and a diaper changing. She looked at me like I was the devil!! I was not rude, but we all have some place to be. Fair is fair. No cutting! I suppose I was wrong to expect a shot of customer service along with his Hep B booster!

Anyhoo, once we got called back the nurse, Janet Miller (who I adore and was so happy to see), calmed me down, calmed my fears and along with the other nurse did an amazing job! Harrison only cried for about 5 seconds. He really has not acted fussy or the least bit autistic. I am so glad that we have a few months before we have to do them again!

Hannah's new do

Our good friend Hannah B. came over the other night to model her hot new haircut.

Lookin' good Hannah!

She is donating what she got cut off to locks of love.
Two ponytails worth!

Damn you Jenny McCarthy!

Tomorrow Baby H has his first set of shots.

I am fearful and that fear is worse because of one person. That person is Jenny McCarthy. She's funny, she's cute, Oprah loves her, she dates Jim Carrey. She also has a son who "was" autistic until Jenny kind of "cured" him. I have read her books. She thinks there is a direct connection between autism and immunizations and she makes a pretty good case for it (she's not the only one who thinks this, trying to research it through the U of Google will make your head spin) I have read lots of other information saying that she is wrong. The CDC says she is wrong. My pediatrician says she is wrong. The overwhelming majority of the medical profession as a whole say she is wrong.

But have any of them appeared in Playboy??????

I'm sure I will be taking Harrison to get his shots tomorrow.

The entire time I will be thinking about Jenny McCarthy.

RHI RHI, what are you thinking?

Word on the street is that Rhianna is back together with Chris Brown.

What's the old saying? Fool me once shame on you....

Next time he punches you, beats you, bites you, don't come crying to me.

Perhaps in ten years or so Rhianna will get her story made into a Lifetime movie. They could call it Disturbia under my umbrella.

Even better, years from now her story will be turned into a motion picture. It worked out really well for Tina Turner.

On that note, turn up your speakers and enjoy one of my all time favs by Miss Tina and her ex-husband, IKE---another woman beating bastard.

The Cajun comes to Eagle country

My friend Tracie Crain came home to Newton last weekend for a visit. While she was in town she stopped by for a visit. It was SO nice to see her. She brought her kids and Jack fell in love with her son Parker. He thought he was so cool and had such a good time playing "boy stuff" with him. Karsyn is a dream and little Maddy is a doll! I had such a nice time visiting with Tracie and her kids.

I cannot say enough good things about Tracie. This girl is the real deal.

Even though she lives states away she has been a rock of support to me in the past month and I appreciate her so much.

Baby Harrison and Miss Tracie.
He loved being held and cuddled by her.

The rest of the story

“Hello, Americans,” every show began. “You know what the news is. In a minute, you're going to hear the rest of the story.”

Legendary radio broadcaster Paul Harvey died yesterday at age 90.
