I have a dream

I have always wanted to be a judge of the Jasper County Fair Queen pageant. I have other dreams and goals but this, this is my Everest. Many of you may be thinking "whoa, wait a minute, hold on there sister" . And you know what maybe you are right, but I am not going to give up on this dream. A little man named Columbus took a chance and if he didn't, we wouldn't be here (unless you are reading this from a foreign land-then it would not apply to you-God Bless the USA).
In Paris news....
Your daughter just gets released from jail.

You are so happy to see her, she is running to you. Yet Paris's Mother could not even get out of the car to greet her daughter, she hugs her through the open car window. Am I the only one who thought that was odd? I asked some friends. One of them suggested that maybe Kathy Hilton was not wearing any pants. I am pretty sure that had to be it.

Tiger Woods and his spawn

Tiger Woods and his wife are the parents of a new baby girl. Her name is Sam. I kind of wish he would have kept up the animal name thing. Wouldn't it be cool if they would have name her Ring Tailed Lemur? Sure, she would struggle in school, kids would make fun, but in the end it would only make her stronger
I choose this picture because:
1. It kind of looks like the dog is wearing socks
2. Tiger and his trophy wife are staring at the dog, not the baby. Those crazy golfers sure do love dogs.

Newton Eagle Football Fish Fry
SHOUT OUT to Jason Fulton, Todd Short, and Jackie Schackmann for making last nights now annual Newton Eagle Football Fish Fry a HUGE success!! A lot of fish was eaten, t-shirts sold, and I think the community once again has caught football fever. Steve Bickers won the football autographed by the 2007 Newton Eagle's Football Team and staff. He sure is one lucky guy, the autographed football and all of those bowling rings!
The Countdown has begun!
JACK and the new haircut
BEFORE
AFTER
Jack got a new haircut last Saturday. It is what one might call a "summer haircut". It makes him look so much older-I did not think he could look any cuter, but somehow he does.

The above picture was taken by Rebekah Gosnell. You can view it on her blog http://www.gosnellfamily.blogspot.com/ (SHOUT OUT). I am using it without her permission.

The Diel Girls take a field trip
Last Friday was my birthday. Amanda Zumbahlen, Michelle Fulton, Jill Bierman, and myself spent the day in Terre Haute. We decided to visit American Freight furniture-who has not seen the commercials and wondered what it is all about? Supposedly it is located at the corner of Fruitridege and Wabash. After driving around for about 30 minutes we realized that could not be the case. Jill stopped at Java Haute (and talked to some real nice people) and got directions. Those were not correct either. Luckily Michelle watches enough TV that she had memorized the number from the commercial 238-0181 (I think). We called and Kyle, American Freight employee, was nice enough to give us directions that got us there. Kyle sure was glad to see us once we arrived and we were glad to see him. He did not have any snacks to offer Jill who was hungry by this point so, no one bought anything. I am not sure that I would recommend American Freight for your new furniture needs. If you do go, give the "cuddler" a try.
I guess the moral of this story is that the journey can be just as much fun as the destination.

Tomorrow is Bob Barkers last day on "The Price is Right". How many of us have not dreamed of getting the "come on down" and then hearing that you are going to get to play PLINKO!
I remember watching TPR one day in the summertime with my sisters (you could not swim in the pond until after lunch). Bob gave his famous sign-off at the end of the show "remember have your pets spayed or neutered". My little sister Rebekah immediately ran up the stairs and asked my Mom if she was spayed or neutered. Ah memories, good times, good times.
Bob, thanks for the memories.

Well, today has certainly been a very interesting day in the world of blogging. It saddens me that what I and others have found to be so enjoyable has taken a turn for the worse. Will my blog go on? I did think for a few minutes today that maybe I should shut it down but, I cannot let one person's uninformed words stop me. What would Rosa Parks do? I decided I am not going to give up my seat on this bus. I am enjoying the ride too much.
To anonymous commenter:
You may have taken the tongue in cheek style of my blog to literally. This blog is meant to entertain and delight. I am many things and among the things that I am is an avid Newton Eagle Football fan. If you have a problem with that, I suggest that this is not the place for you to be. If you have a personal problem with me or the content of my blog I invite you to grow a pair and contact me personally. My e-mail address is jak122004@msn.com .
I do appreciate any and all comments from my readers. Please before commenting, use the spell check tool that almost all computers provide. I cannot leave a poorly worded or misspelled comment posted on my Blog. It hurts my readers eyes.

So, I went to the Relay-For-Life this weekend. My church had a team and I had done A LOT of work helping with fundraising. By the time Relay-For-Life got here I was SOOO over it. But, they did raise a lot of money for the American Cancer Society (which I think goes to buy t-shirts). Cancer is not the point of this rant-although I will say, and I think that most people will agree, Cancer is BAD. What is the point is what happened to me at the Relay-For-Life. The event was held at the high school on the track and the Football Field (sacred ground that deserves respect). I was setting in the stand watching some cancer related entertainment and I decided to go and set in my reserved seat. All of a sudden I felt it. I looked across the field and could see the boys in their uniforms huddling up getting ready to run onto the field. "On Wisconsin" was playing in my mind as I hummed along. I could almost taste the Rotary Club porkburgers and feel Bill Huth's hand on my shoulder. I am ready for it.
To sum it all up:
CANCER=BAD
Newton Eagle Football=GOOD

This week has been Vacation Bible School at Central Christian Church. I was the craft teacher for 1st-4th grades with help from Kalyn Bergbower, Stephanie Frichtl, Lisa Turner, and Yvonne and Kendra Will . It was interesting to say the least! Actually overall it was a really good time and I hope the kids had as much fun as I did! We decoupaged tissue boxes and made snakes out of neckties. I really don't know what either craft had to do with church but nothing says I heart Jesus like a snake made out of an old tie!
